Roled is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Roled platform, how we use it, and the measures we take to keep it secure.

This policy applies to the Roled Cloud managed service at roled.io. If you deploy Roled on your own infrastructure, this policy does not apply to that deployment, and you are responsible for managing your users’ data accordingly.

A note for end users: This policy covers information collected from developers and teams who build with Roled. If you are an end user of an application that integrates Roled, your data is governed by that application’s own privacy policy. Please contact that service directly with any privacy inquiries.

Information We Collect

When you register and use Roled, we collect the information you provide directly, including your name, email address, project configurations, role definitions, and permission settings. If you use the Fully Managed Users model, we may also process email addresses, display names, and profile data for your end users. If you use the Decoupled (Bring Your Own Users) model, we store only external user identifiers and role mappings, without processing passwords or personal profiles.

Automatically, when you access the platform, we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, API request logs, and error reports. We also use cookies and similar technologies for session management and usage analytics.

From third parties, if you authenticate through an external identity provider, we receive basic profile information from that provider.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and maintain the Roled platform, authenticate your account, respond to support requests, send important Service-related communications, detect and prevent security incidents, and improve the platform based on usage patterns.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Information Sharing

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted partners who assist us in operating the platform, such as infrastructure, email, and monitoring services. They are permitted to use your data only as directed by us.
• Legal obligations: When required by applicable law or a valid legal process.
• Safety and security: To protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the platform.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. This includes TLS encryption for data in transit, encryption at rest, strict access controls, and continuous security monitoring. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we are committed to maintaining strong protections and responding promptly to any identified issues.

Cookies

We use cookies for essential platform functionality (such as maintaining your session), usage analytics (to help us understand how the platform is used), and functional preferences (to remember your settings). You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect the platform experience.

Your Rights

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where retention is required by law. If you use the Decoupled integration model, role associations can be removed upon request.

Children

The Service is intended for professional use and is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take prompt steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable requirements. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the Console before they take effect.
